Stinky Meat

I was up at the Winn Dixie on Big Pine day before yesterday....   I have a method to my shopping... I make a big loop around the perimeter  inside the store and if I am  not in a hurry and have that thing they call time  then I walk up and down the isles... looking for  BOGO...  SNAKE Marketing...

I usually zoom past the Vegetables .. as I can't afford them.... unless it is carrots.. or scallions or sometimes when on sale... Corn...... I guess it is so expensive because they plow it under because there are less immigrants available  to break their backs working in the Hot Sun... here in the United States?

Then it is off around the bend to the hot cases.... and the Olive bar... there you can get free Mayonnaise packets and Plastic wear with salt pepper and a napkin... then to the Meat section... but first past the sea food... Now... I kid you not when I say for the past 33 years of shopping in that same store I have  NEVER once walked past the Sea Food counter and  NOT said to myself... WHEW!  what IS that  STINK ? .... Good GOD!   and    in combination with Bleach,   That  Special aromatic Blend.

Then it is around the corner for Sour creme  and two for one block  Cheese or else... forget it... then around the final bend and maybe grab a mini pecan pie and a loaf of cheap bread if they are not  already sold out....  then I check my self out at the automated machine that yells at me every time....'Help is on the Way'....  Every Time...... Help is on the Way...............................

So any way I bought a package of Leg of Lamb shank Steaks.... two.....  marked down to $2.32  it had been aging in a vacuum sealed pack for some time.... nicely....

The following day I thought to cook them up for supper... I opened the package and the entire Kitchen immediately  took on  a waft of flesh decay...  there was quite a strong odor....  dare I say   a STINK?... a mild Stink.. perhaps....

NOT so bad I thought.... I will cook them Well Done.... which I did... and ate  one of them Stink and All. With Canned Potatoes...
