An old building stood out on the ocean side of Warner Rd once ....on Big Pine Key...  it used to be the cook shack for the shark processing  factory that used to be out that way.........

It was called the Spyder Ranch in latter years... a low rent hang out......

Its completely gone now rest assured...

Apparently the historical society had no interest in being it's Savior .... it was Bulldozed.....

Inside one of the bedrooms the walls were completely covered in sheet music as if it were wallpaper... I remember.........


Legend has it David Allen Coe hid out there from the I.R.S.    for a Spell.........

I now wonder if that was his daughters bedroom... of course if any of it is even true.

Story goes there were so many Rats out there among'st the mangroves that came in at night  that they just left saucers of beer out for them....  ....  that way the rats would not be as disturbing to them  while they  Slept.....

I understand through his music and song  DAC does not particularly care for Jimmy Buffett....

As Guy was thinking about a verse in one of Buffett's songs...

The Parrot that did not like me

Charlie was a Prick......

I noticed his cage or house was thrown out in the rubbish as I drove bye the other morning on Ramrod....

Charlie belonged to dear friends of mine... and on occasion they would ask me to stop by and feed Charlie and give him some water and company.... if they were off for a day or two or thee....

Charlie was a medium Green Parrot.... he had only one leg.... and was  noisy bastard.... at first I would reach in there and he would hop on my finger... No small feat I suppose with one leg....

Then one day out of the blue  he bit the shit out of me.... that was it............ I did not think for long about breaking his neck.. or at all even really...  But... just trying to sensationalize the Story....

I simply chose there and then to never ever reach in that cage again....... I shot his water in there from outside with the hose  thereafter ....  he like being cooled off anyway... and then kind of quickly grabbed his food bowl and topped it off....

Charlie has been dead for years now... but I remember you .... Asshole.....

I have a suspect ... in mind.... one... maybe two....

The first one has a last name that begins with a Z....

He has been arrested more times for petty crime in this County then anyone else over the last 35 years...

A record Breaker........HE...........

All Petty and some malicious Stuff..... 'They' provoked him.......

He is really quite funny you know... why the Cop's even beat him in the head once... he was walking down U.S. one with his head wrapped in a bloody Bandage...

Ohhhhhhhhhh  How they love to Hate him...... one of 'Their' all time favorites....

One Morning he handed me his card....with nothing more then a painting upon it:  that was how I figured out he was an Angel....

It dawned on me.....
